Meercat Boats officially handed over the newly launched Meercat MRV22 Landing Craft, Toplander, to her new owners at a press event on Tuesday 11th June at Seawork.
The new vessel is a 22 metre Meercat multirole vessel (MRV), of steel construction, with unique landing craft features.
The MRV22 is Meercat’s largest workboat to date. The steel vessel has been specifically designed by Alastair Salmon to reflect the multirole vessel ‘standard’ design, which is synonymous with all the Meercats built to date, together with a bespoke drop-down bow which enables ease of access for trucks and heavy plant.
This versatile vessel provides the operator with excellent cargo carrying capacity, superb manoeuvrability, and exceptional build quality, to MCA Workboat Code of Practice Category 2.
The MRV (multirole vessel) has been purchased by Seawork exhibitor, Topbond plc, the UK’s leading independent maritime civil engineering specialist. Toplander will be available for charter alongside two smaller Meercat Boats and other vessels in the Topbond fleet.
Topbond’s recent projects span both maritime and commercial projects including the award-winning London City Airport expansion, Dover Harbour fendering replacement scheme, and the Llanddulas Jetty refurbishment in North Wales.
Since its inception in 2007, Meercat Boats has delivered multirole steel workboats to numerous sectors for use in port harbour servicing, aquaculture, marine civils, ship servicing, as well as supporting wind farms.
